I've always been a great fan of cologne for me. I'm instantly drawn to a guy with a great cologne, and I can remember the first time I met my current boyfriend. It was the cologne he was wearing (Safari by Ralph Lauren) that drew my attention and he still likes to tease my about this.

If you're looking to buy a gift for your boyfriend, a men's cologne can make a great one. What this might come down to is what he and you will like, and sometimes it can be hard to narrow this down with so many options out there. Here are a few that get high marks with me.

One very safe bet, in my opinion, is a fragrance by Hugo Boss and it's called Dark Blue. It's quite a few years old at this point, as it came out earlier this decade. Still, the fragrance is fresh and modern without a doubt. This won't be your typical heavy cologne that could offend some people.

It comes in a dark blue bottle (as expected), and smells like Davidoff Cool Water, only a little better in my mind.

After this, I'm going to recommend Blue Jeans, a Versace cologne. This one is a bit less neutral in the sense that the scent is a little stronger. I'd probably call it sweet. I've seen both guys and girls go crazy for this one.

I warn you though, you'll have to be into sweet fragrances in order to like this. If you do like that type of scent, you'll love this.

Lastly, I'd look into Safari, the very cologne that won me over with my current boyfriend. This is an extremely masculine cologne that has a bit of a musky scent, but it's one that I've always loved. It's a classic at this point, as it's probably been around for at least 15 or 20 years, and it still remains popular today.

While there are thousands of possible colognes to choose from out there, these should all do you very well in my opinion. Rarely do I come across someone who doesn't enjoy the scent of these fragrances and I think you'll find the same.
