Many people are curious about the effects of baking soda to acne. Well then it’s time to end the debate. Yes, baking soda is an effective pimple treatment. And most of these are from personal experience. Following are home acne remedies that uses baking soda.

Baking soda face mask

Baking soda acne treatment is one of the most effective yet simple acne remedies today. You can start creating paste through baking soda and water mixture. This is placed on the skin for the next fifteen minutes. This cleans off dirt from the skin and allows for a fresher looking facial surface. You can do this at least four times a week, preferably before going to bed. Of course, like other home acne remedies, it is important to first wash your face before proceeding. Don’t rub towel on your skin. Instead, you should gently dab on your skin until it is completely dry.

Spot treatments

This treating acne with baking soda is pretty much the same as the face mask. However, the paste is not applied to the whole face but only to the problematic pimple. Using warm water, this can be removed the following morning. Baking soda basically dries out the skin and removes the trapped oil in the pores. Again, use a clean towel to gently dab on the skin after removal.

Scars and baking soda

It has also been said that baking soda can minimize the amount of scarring produced by pimples. Although I haven’t done this personally, others swears by this method.

Testing first

People with sensitive skin aren’t really recommended to use this treatment. Try putting baking soda paste on the inside of your wrist first to test. Wait for a few minutes first. Look for another alternative if your skin starts to itch or become reddish.

If you’re allergic, then there are some other acne treatments you can try. Some of these include toothpaste, pumpkin and even garlic. You can use either garlic or pumpkin as face masks. They are also capable of scar removal. You can also place toothpaste directly on the pimple.

Keep in mind that these remedies may take time to be effective. However, you shouldn’t have any problems sticking to the routine. Aside from these treatments, don’t forget to eat right and exercise daily. This will definitely add to your skins health. Wash your face as often as possible.
