The Fountain Of Youth Has Been Found… In A Bottle!
After spending twelve years as a stylist, I'm often seen by women as the ultimate authority on beauty. However, although I am a dapper 6 foot 2 gay male, I am not necessarily the authority on the beauty they are looking for. But, I do tend to look out for any tidbits of information that could give me the "one-up" over the competition in my line of work.
A few weeks ago I was highlighting a clients hair when she begin to gossip with another stylist. She bragged about her recent 54th birthday surprise party and my jaw dropped to the floor. I have been styling this ladies hair for 5 years and always assumed she was in her very early forties.
I kept quiet for another couple minutes, but eventually I found myself dying to know her secret to looking youthful. Although I thought of face lifts and Botox right away, in the past I had been proven wrong about their success. It turns out this case was no different!
I managed to get the confidence to ask her how she did it, "Girl what are you doing to keep yourself looking so young?" After we shared a laugh together, she asked me "Do you promise not divulge my secret?" in an elaboratively secret manner. I agreed enthusiastically, and so as she pulled me close to her she said in a whisper, "I found the fountain of youth". I couldn't help but laugh.
My client elaborated; she told me about her success in capturing her youth by using an organic skin cream rather than the lab created skin creams she used to utilize. I was skeptical, however, I wondered if there was really that big of a difference between the two types of creams.
After work, I chose to find out more information about the topic myself. When I did a little digging, I realized that almost all skin creams, including many that used the label "organic" made use of preservatives that made the cream both less efficient and more expensive.
It turns out the company my client referred uses no potentially toxic ingredients and all of their ingredients come from certified organic farms. They do not water down even their most potent ingredients and add no colorings agents or fragrances, both of which can affect results of the product.
As such, when considering a skin cream, you should always look for any ingredients that may be harmful to your health; I've found that unless a skin cream is completely natural, it most likely will contain some. In 2004, a study was conducted that found that Prebens was a preservative used in many cosmetic products that was also found in 90% of breast cancer tumors. So, you should always look for organic skin creams as they are the most healthy, effective, and affordable option for you.
